I Wish I Had Known About This Service Years Ago

In my 30+ years of working with senior adults and their family members, I’ve seen families with the best intent try to manage the daunting tasks of caregiving alone – feeling that they should be able to handle and coordinate all aspects of their loved one’s needs. I get it, but there are times I just want to reach out and say, “You don’t have to do this all by yourself; there is another way!”

In our early days, LivHOME had a commercial that aired on TV, a 30 second spot, and the message was clear… if you spend all your time taking care of all the tasks that your parent needs help with, when do you have time to be their child? You have your role, and we have ours.

Our Life Care Managers are professional nurses, social workers, and other allied professionals who focus on creating better care experiences, helping families with problem solving, accessing needed services, providing decision support, and helping families take action. Most family members who engage our Life Care Managers tell us, “I wish I had known about this service years ago.”
