A4. Keep distractions down (TV, radio), ask simple questions (yes or no answers)! #caregiving #Aphasia #LHchat

A4. Avoid finishing their sentences, use visual references (pointing), prompt them (ask them to describe their thoughts further)! #LHchat

A5. There is language impairment based treatment that helps with language tasks like reading aloud, gestures, picture matching #LHchat

A5. Also, Constraint Induced Language Therapy: using language strategies other than talking – like gestures or writing or visuals! #LHchat

A5. This is a great therapy: Melodic Intonation Therapy – it uses melody & rhythm to help spoken language #LHchat #Aphasia
