Mary Beth Hardy, our Midwest regional director, has a story in the June issue of Advance for Long-Term Care Management about LivHOME’s work with The Sisters of the Living Word in Chicago.
You can read the story here.
In her article, Mary Beth begins by outlining the challenges facing the sisters when we first started working with them. She describes the program we developed with the sisters. And she explains how after 5 years, the sisters have become more active, are having fewer ER visits and falls, and feel more confident in their understanding of the health-care process.
This work with the sisters underscores the skills and approach we bring to the table in any client situation.

Normally on this blog we discuss the here and now. Today, however, I want to look back at our 10 years in business, during which we’ve helped many clients enjoy their senior years with comfort and dignity.
As CEO, I date back to LivHOME’s inception in 1999. We started the company that year with a small headquarters staff of 6, including myself. How we’ve grown. Today, LivHOME has more than 3000 employees serving clients in 15 major markets in 9 states.
We’ve grown both organically and through acquisition, welcoming 12 companies to LivHOME over the past 10 years — 6 since the beginning of 2007.
LivHOME’s story, though, is not just about numbers. It’s about people. Both the people we serve — our clients, their families, and the professionals who refer them — and the people who work with those clients every day. Our LivHOME staff.
Whether it’s going the extra mile in an emergency situation, as our Houston staff did when Hurricane Ike hit late last year, or just spending time with a client on a quiet afternoon, it is our Caregivers and Care Managers’ love of working with seniors that has truly allowed us to succeed.
So, let me conclude by thanking all those who have contributed to LivHOME’s first 10 years. I’m proud of what we’ve all accomplished together, and look forward to what the next decade will bring.

On page 7 of NAFC’s publication (click here), there is a great article by Sharon Rosenfield, a LivHOME Care Manager in Los Angeles, that talks about how LivHOME’s Care Managers help to maintain the dignity for seniors with incontinence.
